In terms of Disney and Marvel, in my opinion, it can be a toss up as to what gets made and what doesn't. Will/should Captain America get made? Most defenitely. It's one of those names you AUTOMATICALLY know. But will Thor get the credit it deserves? Will Disney tone down the content and NOT show Tony Stark's (Iron Man's) descent down an alcoholic's path? How far will Disney go? Will it just be the movies they try to market on, or will they dip their fingers into the publishers and the writers and illustrators?

I know I'm rambling. But I love comics. Marvel, D.C. I like super hero comics, Star Wars comics, graphic novels, etc etc. I am man enough to admit that when I read "Fallen Son : Death of Captain America" I cried. Because it was so moving, and so real, if you get what I'm saying.

I am playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. If you don't know, it's partly based on Marvels Civil War comic spread. And it works out GREAT! Obviously, they switched it up a bit to make it work. And it does. I truly recommend it. The way it is combined with the comic series is almost identical. Showing Marvels dedication and love for its characters and staff.

My final piece on this is sort of a warning. If Disney wants to make cash off Marvel, go right ahead. Just don't destroy what billions of fans have come to love and respect. Don't turn Captain America into just a PSA (Public Service Announcement) telling kids to treat others well and eat their broccoli. Don't turn Wolverine into a soft little kitty. Don't put Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald at every corner turn in our pages and pages of our books and comics. And PLEASE, don't have the Hulk suddenly have great grammer. Otherwise, SEAN SMASH!!!

I am a Marvel fan all the way X-MEN to be specific and I love the movies but hate them because they don't follow the story lines of the comics and it's confusing and I hate when they change it and make it into something it shouldn't be. I do think they need to make STORM her own movie afterall she is way better then wolverine.

when i read x-men back in the day, wolverine's exact back story was one of the most sought after and closely guarded secrets in the marvel universe. i liked the way they did his movie but it kinda took a lot of the fun out of xmen. i wont go into details in case someone hasnt seen it.

i hope beast is next for origins. loved him with the avengers

When I was young I loved the stories of "Asterix and Obelix"... I'm not sure if it's available in USA too, but I loved it... Some day I tried to cook myself the magic potion of Miraculix, but my mom told me better not to drink it...
:orglaugh :orglaugh :orglaugh

Yep these are here in the USA. In fact you can even find them in our local libraries, kid's section, I kid you not.

Great characters, lines, art. Made the ancient world inviting. For those who love tall tales and puns.

Made me respect those indomitable Gauls :winkwink

And look at the names of cities and tribes with an alert eye :smoking

You will probably make fun of me, Disco darling, but I was quite the collector and reader of ARCHIE comic books, back in the day.

I know, I know, lame. But I always identified with those characters more than with superheroes, especially Betty! LOL

I actually have a couple of the original Star Wars comic books lying around my house somewhere. I wonder if they are worth anything!

omg i have a star wars MANGA that follows a new hope pretty much word for word.

i am so embarrassed for admitting that.

i wanted to read the serenity comics that are supposed to come after the firefly show but i didn't really like the art style and couldn't get into them.

when i was little i used to draw picture books and comics none very good or marketable but i was always full of stories.

i asked for a tablet for drawing with he computer for chirstmas and i'm thinking of starting a webcomic about my antics on cam. so if i get around to that i'll let you know. :)

I think it will be interesting with Disney's purchase of Marvel. It should be really good having two very popular companies together. I didn't think Magneto would be the next X-Men Origin movie. Maybe, Professor X, Jean Grey, or Cyclops because I thought they were more popular, than him. I have read Beast is supposed to be in the X-Men Origin: Magneto movie. The Ultimate Alliance's 1 and 2 games look like they are fun to play. I haven't played them before. Thor, would be a great superhero to make into a movie. Even though he isn't as popular as Captain America, it would be nice to see what he would look like with the special effects. I remember the 70's and 80's cartoons of the Super Friends, and the different name changes they were called. They are classic ones to watch. I love Star Wars. I remember the comic books of them, and there are novels of the different stories, too. I even have a collection of some of the action figures there are. I have seen the d.v.d. movie Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, and it is excellent. There are other D.C. superheroes, and villians in it with tons of action. I highly recommend it to anyone, especially, who is into superheroes. I know I haven't talked to you too much lately, Chelsey. There is a topic I remember you like, which is involved in the d.v.d. movie that you would like a lot, and would find interesting.

Do try them again, Those Left Behind and Better Days add so much more to the stories. Browncoats for EVER!

This is for anyone, who are not just into, and like comic books, but are into the Justice League. There is a new live animated action movie that came out on d.v.d. called Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths. I bought it just like Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, and Superman: Doomsday. I saw it, and I think it is as good as Superman/Batman: Public Enemies. It has plenty of action, too. I recommend that one, also, especially to you, too, Chelsey :).

i also do not like the idea of anyone purchasing marvel , or DC comics.especially Disney .They will ruin every single story for commercial purposes.as for the next x-man origins, i heard nothing yet but i hope they do storm.she has an amazing story.and i wonder how accurate Disney will keep it.

I doubt if it will technically violate the rules here on revealing too much "personal information" but I'm very happy to say that the 2009 winner of the Will Eisner Award for the BEST comics shop in the world is within 5 minutes of my house. I'm more of an occasional browser there than a real buyer & collector, but it's great to have them around. :drinkup

Happy Free Comic Book Day to the Best Of The Best over at Tate's... :bowdown

This is for people, who are interested in seeing the movie "Iron Man 2" including when it first opens. If you haven't seen the first one, then I suggest you do before you go to the second one, so you can see how the character "Tony Stark" became him in the movie. It is just a suggestion from me. :)
